Techniques To Propel Your Social Network Status

In this video, TuxedoJericho asks how to best propel your status on Social Networks. While there is no silver bullet to make this happen, here are three techniques to increase your clout: 1. Participate 2. Passion 3. Courtesy. These three traits will most likely increase your recognition in your favorite social network, but are not guaranteed to work. I do these things but I also exhibit my personality which some people like and some people don’t. This is a hard question to answer and ultimately, it depends on many factors. I will say, you employ the three things I mention in this video, it definitely can not hurt your situation. Hope this answered your question.

Social media: Participatory online media where news, photos, videos, and podcasts are made public via social media websites through submission. Normally accompanied with a voting process to make media items become “popular”.[citation needed]

Social Media Expanded Definition: Social Media is the democratization of information, transforming people from content readers into content publishers. It is the shift from a broadcast mechanism to a many-to-many model, rooted in conversations between authors, people, and peers.

Social media uses the wisdom of crowds to connect information in a collaborative manner. Social media can take many different forms, including Internet forums, message boards, weblogs, wikis, podcasts, pictures and video. Technologies such as blogs, picture-sharing, vlogs, wall-postings, email, instant messaging, music-sharing, group creation and voice over IP, to name a few. Examples of social media applications are Google (reference, social networking), Wikipedia (reference), MySpace (social networking), Facebook(social networking), Last.fm (personal music), YouTube (social networking and video sharing), Second Life (virtual reality), and Flickr (photo sharing).

Why Social Networking

Social networking sites act as a conduit to connect like-minded people and they are therefore still attracting members because it fuels the human need to feel part of a community. Social media networks are here to stay – though thinking they will stay as they are indefinitely is unrealistic and impractical. They will of course evolve.

Social network sites are web-based services that allow individuals to (1) construct a public or semi-public profile within a bounded system, (2) articulate a list of other users with whom they share a connection, and (3) view and traverse their list of connections and those made by others within the system. The nature and nomenclature of these connections may vary from site to site. Distributed by Tubemogul.
