Beginner’s Guide to Facebook Marketing

The enormous popularity of Facebook as a social tool is unmistakable. But have you ever stopped to think about how Facebook could be used to promote your business? The potential is amazing! Facebook fans are very loyal and if you can manage to draw that kind of loyalty form your Facebook fans you’ll have taken a giant step toward a successful Facebook marketing campaign. Facebook has the highest rate of fans who will return to a Facebook page again and again. Make sure you’re in on that phenomenon!

Essentially, it comes down to your ability to promote your Facebook page effectively. Do that effectively and you’ll be able to reach more customers than you can imagine. But how do you go about it?

If you were offered a coupon for going to a restaurant, even if you’d never been there before, would you be more likely to check it out? Probably, right? As long as the restaurant had something to offer you were interested in, you’d probably be willing to give it a shot. The same goes for Facebook fans. Offer them a discount, prize or coupon for joining your Facebook page and you’ll see a dramatic increase in your fans!

Facebook is all about communication and that includes communication between you and your fans. For Facebook marketing to work, you have to take into account the feedback you receive from your fans and address their concerns and acknowledge their positive comments. Let them know you’re listening!

It’s a great idea to get your fans talking, too. Ask questions, send out polls or surveys, comment on discussions – all of this will get people talking and let them know you’re listening, too. You’ll create more marketing opportunities, inspire more feedback and open the lines of customer service communcation.

TripAdvisor Recommends to Check Your Hotel Reviews and Take Advantage of the Owner Center

The historical Stazione Leopolda train station in Florence, currently turned into a meeting center, was the setting for the 2009 edition of the Buy Tourism Online Tradeshow (16th and 17th November). The B.T.O. is an Italian web 2.0 and online tourism fair which central topic is TOURISM 2.0, the trend that is radically changing the dynamics of supply and demand in tourist accommodation.

Many speakers introduced a choice of points of Web 2.0 and social networking that ned to be taken in consideration in the hotel industry. One of the most worthy of note was the speech delivered by TripAdvisor(c)’s Roberto Frua. Frua’s main point was how social media, and mainly TripAdvisor(c), can assist hoteliers in their marketing strategies.

Web 2.0, or consumer-based internet content, is a reality and it is very dynamic in the tourism industry. TripAdvisor(c), with its over 30 million traveler reviews, is an indispensable tool to monitor what it is being said about your property and take action. Monitoring and responding to your hotel’s reviews are essential in modern hotel business. More than ever if the reviews are negative, the hotelier should first of all be aware of the post and secondly come up with a satisfactory response. In order to facilitate this task, Tripadvisor(c) has introduced the Owner Center, built to help management teams from hotels, restaurants and attractions manage and optimize their properties’ presence on the portal.

Through the Owner Center hoteliers log in and are able to provide and update details about their hotels and most of all keep track of their reviews and respond in a timely manner. It really helps to save time on a very time consuming chore. Managers can check their performance on the customer satisfaction index, but also keep an eye on how their direct competitors are doing.

Nowadays TripAdvisor(c) is a vital means for hoteliers to engage with their former and possible guests. The revolution of the Web 2.0 is that customers have their say and what they think about your property is visible to the whole online community. It is a miscalculation to ignore this reality that may hurt the hotel credibility and image in the World Wide Web. Be it through the practical Owner Center or not, it is really advisable to observe what is being said about your property in TripAdvisor(c) and react: The first move to being part of any online community is to listen to the conversation, and then to join in.
